TikTok Comment Section: Voice Messages Up to 60 Seconds, In-Comment Polls, and Up to 9 Photos Now Supported
TikTok has rolled out new features—including voice comments, comment polls, and photo carousels—designed to make its comment section more interactive. According to TikTok, over 1.7 billion comments are posted daily on the platform. The company is introducing these additions to expand existing capabilities that allow users to comment via text, photos, and video stickers.
To use this, tap the microphone icon in the comment box to record your voice. Other users can then tap the posted voice comment to listen to it.
TikTok stated that voice comments will be rolled out gradually over the next month globally for accounts belonging to users aged 18 and older.
In-Comment Polls TikTok has also launched the 'Comment Polls' feature globally. Through this, creators can post a poll when commenting on their own videos to gather input from their followers on various topics.
Creators can include up to five options per poll and set the duration for how long voting will remain open. The voting results will be visible directly within the comment section.
TikTok noted that this feature can be used to gather audience input on decisions like outfit choices, what to cook, or topics for upcoming videos.
Up to 9 Photos in a Single Comment Expanding on photo comments, TikTok has introduced 'Photo Carousel Comments.' This allows users to attach up to 9 photos within a single comment.
While users were previously limited to reacting with only one photo per comment, they can now share multiple images at once. For instance, when responding to a travel video, a user can share multiple photos from their own trips in a single comment. This feature will also roll out globally in phases over the coming month.
Live Photos Supported in Comments TikTok has also enabled 'Live Photo Comments' globally. Users can now upload Live Photos directly from their phone’s camera roll as comments.
With these updates, TikTok stated it aims to evolve the comment section beyond a simple space for reactions into a medium for deeper interaction between creators and viewers.
