Google Gemini Now Allows Creating PDF, Word, and Excel Files Directly via Chat for Free
Google's AI tool, Gemini, has introduced a new feature that allows users to create and download files in various formats directly through chat. With this update, users can provide a prompt to generate files such as PDF, Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides right within the Gemini app.
Users no longer need to leave the app to create these files. Previously, one had to copy and paste information from Gemini into other applications and format it manually. Following the update, users can convert data into Excel (.xlsx) files, transform details into bulleted drafts, and turn long-form text into PDF or Word (.docx) documents. These files can be downloaded directly to a device or exported to Google Drive.
Supported Formats
The feature supports a wide range of formats, including:
Google Workspace: Docs, Sheets, and Slides
Documents: PDF (.pdf), Word (.docx), Rich Text Format (RTF)
Data/Spreadsheets: Excel (.xlsx), CSV (.csv)
Technical/Text: LaTeX, Plain Text (TXT), Markdown (MD)
According to Google, this facility is now available to Gemini users worldwide. To generate a file, users simply need to give a prompt in the Gemini chat specifying the type of file they require.
