REELS ON THE FACEBOOK TO CHALLENGE TIKTOK
Meta has unveiled feature 'reels' like TikTok for Facebook users around the world. Which is coming for iOS and Android users in more than 150 countries of the world.
While bringing this feature to Facebook, the social media giant has included a new editing feature as well as an advertising option. Of course, most of its features were previously available in 50 countries, including the United States.
Users of Facebook will be able to remix other videos like in Instagram Reels and upload video clips up to 60 seconds long. In addition, Facebook users will be able to save the reels video in draft.
Meta will also be adding new video clipping tools in the coming months through which it will be easier for users to publish live and long videos. Also the recorded videos will experience a slightly different format.
Meta is also planning to add monetization to Facebook reels in which two new styles will be adopted. One is banner advertisement will be in the lower part of the Facebook reels as a semi-transparent layer. The other is static sticker advertising, which can be placed elsewhere by creators in countries where 'in-stream ads' are available. Users will be able to share the reels in the coming weeks, including the Story, Watch tab and other Facebook sites.
It is noteworthy that the company has not released any data showing the success of the reels. Of course, Meta was successful in copying Snapchat's story to Instagram. But the future of the reels brought by Facebook to challenge Tiktok is still uncertain.
