5 YEARS OF KHALTI WALLET

Comparing the leap of technology with today's needs, digitization has become the mainstay. Payment service providers
who have made significant progress in Nepal's financial technology sector in a short period of time, Khalti.
Despite various challenges, the wallet, which is trying to digitize the use of money, has completed five years from today and is in its sixth year. Starting in 2017 with a small team and a big goal, Khalti has achieved a lot in a short period of time.

Due to the geographical location of Nepal and unequal access to technology, the distribution of services is not fast by nature. There is an obligation to spend a lot of time even for the most ordinary work.

And for some work, you have to arrive within 10 to 5 o'clock. According to Amit Agrawal, co-founder of the company, the khalti has started to convert limited time into 24 hours.

To this day, the company has worked with great passion and inclination. In the early days, they worked for very low wages to save money.

Using the khalti, you can pay for top-up, electricity, water, internet and DTH bills from your mobile, buy movie, plane, event tickets and book hotel rooms. Similarly, many services such as paying for goods purchased through e-commerce, paying subscription fees for daily newspapers, paying government taxes and service charges can be taken out of khalti.

The Sparrow SMS they used 10 years ago was very popular before the khalti wallet.

The company plans to establish the khalti internationally. However, in the beginning, the company has been trying to give concrete form to the original slogan of 'One House, One Account' in Nepal.

At present, Khalti is working on infrastructure along with financial literacy.

Despite the fact that even large companies can do paid work in the future, their competition had to be digitalized. Their goal was to make it easier for people to spend time paying bills.

By bringing the digital payment process into the mainstream, the khalti seems to have played an important role in curbing the country's tax and revenue leakage. In this way, if all users prepare themselves for the use of digital wallet, the risk of money transactions can be reduced.

At present, the khalti of the digital payment market is 15 percent market share, says Amit, the founder of the company. In the meantime, Khalti is constantly working on innovation.

Recently, WorldLink, Nepal's largest internet service provider, has also invested in khalti wallets. For instant khalti users, the facility to get 100 GB internet has been brought in the free hotspot of WorldLink.

According to Amit, this service has been provided by integrating Facebook Express brought by WorldLink in khalti.

May the next journey of Safal Khalti be more interesting and fruitful in providing the latest services by creating its own market within a period of five years. Happy Fifth Anniversary Khalti!
